The Terrace; the perfect venue for parties, gigs, events, and more…
The Terrace is slightly different to our other pubs. Formerly The Old Turk, The Terrace was transformed to a live events and private hire venue when Beerhouses took it over in 2014. Itโs now the flagship music venue of the group and is rapidly growing its reputation as a fantastic gig venue in West Yorkshire, hosting a range of events from blues, jazz, and indie bands to house and drum n bass DJ sets.ย Read more about the gigs and events at The Terrace here.
With a capacity of 100, itโs the perfect space for an intimate gig or a private party and our covered, heated outdoor area provides the perfect spill out space, whatever the weather! Weโre opposite Dewsbury Train Station, so we have great transport links, making it a perfect location for anyone coming from Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Leeds, or Wakefield.

Yes, thatโs right, The Terrace is free to hire subject to minimum takings on the bar (see all T&Cs here) so why not share your venue when uyou can hire your own pub for the afternoon or evening?! Parties at The Terrace are always great fun and weโll do out utmost to make sure your event is fantastic.

Matthaus, aka Jay Woodrow, has held a deep love for electronic music from a young age. After being surrounded by music as a child, he was particularly attracted to the synth sound and that led to the electro/hip hop/breakdance scene, followed by the house sound of Chicago, techno, and acid house.
Experimenting with drum machines back in the 80s, and the rave scene that followed, led to Matthaus getting his first decks in the early 90s. Alongside developing his own sounds and sets, Jay honed his technical skills as a sound engineer, working with Eurosound, Foulmouth Breaks, and BEAT GURUZ
Matthaus has played extensively in Yorkshire and across the UK, Europe, and further afield. In his capacity as a DJ and sound technician, heโs worked with an impressive range of artists and at high profile dance events, clubs, and venues.
Matthaus and Pat Fulgoni recently performed together while supporting Utah Saints and Allister Whitehead with Pat overlaying vocals on Matthausโs house mixes, and plan to collaborate again in the future. ... See MoreSee Less

Building up to our 8th June session with the legendary Dave Beer lets hear it for some of our fabulous residents. Get your tickets in! First up the outstanding Paul Birbeck and Steve Kirk.
Paul Birbeck and Steve Kirk have a combined experience of nearly fifty years playing house music professionally and have a back catalogue of music spanning thirty years. These guys are experts in their field. Both can play fantastic sets individually to any house orientated crowd, always leaving them wanting more. However, itโs when they play together that something special happens, each bouncing off the otherโs passion to get the crowd jumping. Their aim is to create an electric atmosphere that will be talked about long after the event is over.
Their sets include the best of house and dance music from old skool tunes to brand new upfront house/deep house sets.
